31 Days of PINK {Day 2}

Here we go again. I'm huffing into my pretend party blower, my party hat is on, and there's some Whitney Houston song playing in my head! The party is underway, and we're celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month with PINK decor!

Gosh...I miss "Old Whitney"! Anyway, on to the good stuff!

PINK is not my favorite color {If I'm being honest, and I feel honesty is always the best policy.}, but I do think it embodies women and can represent childhood {I KNOW my bedroom was a mix of Holly Hobbie and Pepto-Bismol walls}! It's a color that induces daydreaming and reminds us of romance {maybe our grandmother's rose scented bathrooms too}, but it's a timeless color with immense popularity. Thanks to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, it now signifies a whole new meaning. It's a color of empowerment and femininity. It's a color to be celebrated!

What little girl wouldn't give up her juice box for this?! I know I sure would have, in a Fraggle Rock second!

Let's keep the theme going today...

Turned off by this BOLD space? I'll tell you what I LOVE about it! That graphic, vintage wallpaper adds a ton of charm. The colors are soothing but make a great impact. The larger scale gingham fabric compliments the vintage paper, because it's a classic pattern. However, it's an updated version of the print and adds a modern punch {by the unexpected size of the gingham}. Notice how it goes well with the modern rug and table! Don't even get me started on that yellow dresser! It's a wonderfully whimsical piece that's sure to grow with this lucky child! Then there's the canopy! It adds such a touch of elegance and European flair! There's so much going on here, but it all goes well together by keeping the bedding calm and the same color pallet throughout!

  1. I can't even tell you how much I loathe wallpaper, but I'm so transfixed and in love with that retro room. The gingham, the wallpaper, the yellow dresser. I'm swooning.
